Panakeia, the first THC-free (0.00%) hemp variety with high CBG content (18%) has been developed by Hemp Trading a sister comapny of Buddha Seeds.
Hemp Trading, a Spanish company focused on the international distribution of products for cannabis growth has developed, together with the Spanish University Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (UPV), Panakeia the first cannabis strain completely THC free (0,00%) with high CBG (18%). It’s a very attractive strain specially for medicinal cannabis patients for its therapeutic properties to treat illness such as Crohn’s, colon cancer, glaucoma, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, among others.

The achievement has been to develop a strain that blocks some steps of biosynthetic route of cannabinoids, avoiding the formation of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the illegal and psychoactive component, increasing the stack of cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinoid with high medicinal potential and since now it was a residual amount, Hemp Trading’s CEO, Ernesto Llosá said. That means a double achievement: not only THC has been eliminated, but the concentration of CBG has been increased.

To be completely THC free eliminates any vulnerabilities during harvesting and poses no risk to the crop as when hemp crops exceed the permitted level of the psychoactive cannabinoid they can be at risk of being destroyed. Panakeia Seeds resolves these issues, Original Seeds Store are hoping to have this strain available for the European market soon.
